چکیده

Digital Image Processing is one of the basic and important tools in the image processing and computer vision. Gestures are expressive, meaningful body motions involving physical movements of the fingers, hands, arms, head, face, or body with the intent of conveying meaningful information or interacting with the environment. Gesture recognition has wide-ranging applications. Creating a virtual human computer interaction device such as mouse or keyboard using a webcam and computer vision techniques can be an alternative way for the touch screen. Many researchers in the human computer interaction and robotics fields have tried to control mouse movement using video devices. This kind of human-machine interfaces would allow a user to control a wide variety of devices through hand gestures. This paper proposes the controlling of an object in virtual 3D environment using the data fetched fromextracting and tracking gestures from live images.Cascade object detector will be used to detect the gestures. Cascade object detector can be trained to detect a variety of objects. Based on the detected hand gestures, we will control different operations on the object in 3D environment.

Human Computer Interaction Using Vision-Based Hand Gesture Recognition

With the rapid emergence of 3D applications and virtual environments in computer systems; the need for a new type of interaction device arises. This is because the traditional devices such as mouse, keyboard, and joystick become inefficient and cumbersome within these virtual environments. In other words, evolution of user interfaces shapes the change in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). In...

Hand Gesture Interaction with a 3D Virtual Environment

Virtual Environment (VE) system offers a natural and intelligent user interface. Hand gesture recognition is more efficient and easier interaction in VE than human-computer interface (HCI) devices like keyboards and mouses. We propose a hand gesture recognition interface that generates commands to control objects directly in a game. Our novel hand gesture recognition system utilizes both Bag-of...

Visual Interpretation of Hand Gestures for Human-Computer Interaction: A Review

The use of hand gestures provides an attractive alternative to cumbersome interface devices for human-computer interaction (HCI). In particular, visual interpretation of hand gestures can help in achieving the ease and naturalness desired for HCI. This has motivated a very active research area concerned with computer vision-based analysis and interpretation of hand gestures. We survey the liter...

Navigating a 3D virtual environment of learning objects by hand gestures

This paper presents a gesture-based Human-Computer Interface (HCI) to navigate a learning object repository mapped in a 3D virtual environment. With this interface, the user can access the learning objects by controlling an avatar car using gestures. The Haar-like features and the AdaBoost learning algorithm are used for our gesture recognition to achieve real-time performance and high recognit...

Holoscopic 3D Micro-Gesture Database for Wearable Device Interaction

With the rapid development of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) technology, human-computer interaction (HCI) has been greatly improved for gaming interaction of AR and VR control. The finger micro-gesture is one of the important interactive methods for HCI applications such as in the Google Soli and Microsoft Kinect projects. However, the progress in this research is slow due to t...
